In Humanities, to kick off the year, we wrote "I Am From" poems. This poem was supposed to introduce me to the rest of the class through the lense of my past. We were given a format while writing it, but I chose to not use it. While writing, the hardest part is always starting. I always struggle with starting the piece off and I had that problem with this poem too, but once I overcame it the poem flowed really well. All in all, this was an introductory project that I'd done many times (in 7th and 9th grade), but I still found it interesting because of how the simple "I Am..." could change so much. At the end of it all we presented our poem at a public exhibition.
