In Humanities we wrote poems that correlated with the graphs and emotions we chose in Physics (more on that later). For the most part I thought the poem my partner and I wrote was good. However, I think that it could've been a lot better. I feel like we didn't put as much emotion into the poem. Other groups had very emotional and personal poems and ours was really missing that element. After we wrote our poem we also made a poster showing how it related to the graph in Physics and an analysis of our poem.
Physics
In Physics we first chose units of emotions we anted to use for our poems (like passion per seconds or intensity per stanza). Then we had to choose a pre-made graph and create a piece-wise function for it, turn it into an acceleration and velocity graph, and then have our poem mirror it. I think my partner and I matched up our graph and poem quite well. We tried to incorporate the words we used as units into the poem so it was easy to tell which emotion was in which stanza.
Multimedia
For Multimedia we learnt about editing and making short films and then made one for our poem. Deciding on the concept for the video wasn't too tough because we had discussed it before. Getting the shots we needed for the project was easy, but editing was the monotonous part. Only one of us could edit at a time, and so half the time I didn't have much to do. A positive thing that came from editing was that my partner and I learned how to do the Pleasantville effect in Final Cut Pro. The Pleasantville effect is where you isolate one color in the video and make everything black and white. If I could change one thing in the filming process it would be that I would've liked to get some shots from outside the campus, because we would've had a greater variety of shots in our video. For future students: Get twice the shots you think you'll need. It'll help you so much. Also, utilize stock footage. Finally, don't be afraid to mess around with the editor. You're supposed to be learning after all.
